Having acquired both the advanced and the nitrox diving credentials before leaving for the trip, it was also prudent to have aquired this, too: DAN stands for Diver's Alert Network (another abbreviation). It provides unique services and insurance for scuba divers. I joined when I was ending my Open Water training.
